McCarthy & Stone – South Street, Taunton

Our remit was to undertake the 278 works on site which involved upgrading the entrance. This included kerbing works, surfacing and road lining works to Somerset County Highways specification.

As part of the project, we undertook additional works that included 600 m2 of slabbing, drainage works, topsoiling landscaped areas, additional kerbing works and approximately 500m2 of block paving to parking areas. We completed by surfacing the private on site roadway.

As we had taken over the work from the original contractor who had gone into liquidation, we had a tight 6 week programme to complete, which was achieved successfully.

iCivils proved to be not only professional but extremely willing and helpful to get us out of a difficult situation involving the insolvency of the original groundworks contractor.

iCivils had to pick up a lot of issues left behind and work to a very tight schedule, expertly organised by their contracts manager, Kim Bowen. Much to our delight, the development handover was delivered on time to a very high standard.
